By adding a new sheet geometry in 8 mm thickness to its innovative i-LINE range of Makrolon® multi UV 4-wall sheets, Bayer Sheet Europe responds to the continuous strong demand for energy-saving construction materials. The latest multi-wall sheet Makrolon® multi UV 4/8-6 is especially suited for tunnel-shape roofs, industrial buildings, sports facilities, greenhouses, and swimming pools.

One of the latest developments is the 8-mm 4-wall sheet Makrolon® multi UV 4/8-6. Its heat transfer coefficient of 2.76 W/m²K saves up to 25 percent of energy costs compared to conventional sheets. Because of their low weight of 1.6 kg/m², the sheets can be easily installed on large surfaces with light substructures. Thanks to their good cold-bending properties, they can also be installed in cupolas and tunnel-shaped roofs.
The unique Y-structure of the sheet and the 6-mm wall spacing guarantee a high loading capacity and resistance to physical impact, such as hail or heavy snow loads. The other advantages of this multifunctional construction material are its high level of fire safety—the sheet meets the B1 classification of DIN 4102 as well as the B-s1 and d0 standards of EN 13501.

The 4-wall sheet Makrolon® multi UV 4/8-6 can also be modified with special functional coatings to avoid both heat loss and heat-built-up. Regardless of the geographic location, the sheet always provides a pleasant room temperature, whether it’s in northern regions, where Makrolon® multi UV 4/8-6 is a perfect match for swimming pool roofs and window rows, or for greenhouse roofing in the sunny south.

The 2100-mm wide Makrolon® multi UV 4/8-6 is available in lengths of 6000 and 7000 mm as a transparent sheet (clear 1099), and upon request also in opal (white 1146), or the heat-reducing type IQ-Relax. With its special UV layer, which is permanently and homogeneously bonded to the sheet by co-extrusion, the Makrolon® multi UV sheet is effectively protected against weathering.
