Bayer Sheet Europe has added a new, 10-millimetre-thick sheet to its innovative i-LINE product portfoli the Makrolon® multi UV 4-wall sheet (Makrolon® multi UV 4/10-6). Similar to the other i-LINE polycarbonate sheets, the material has superior heat insulation properties, which makes it an energy-saving material particularly suited for roofs, façades, and window rows in public and private buildings. All products from Bayer Sheet Europe’s i-LINE are construction materials that are outstanding for both their energy efficiency and ecological compatibility. The sheets not only offer high impact resistance but also excellent heat insulation. In times of rising energy costs, they provide owners of industrial and residential buildings with economic and efficient solutions.

Thanks to the unique Y-structure and a narrower distance between the walls of only 6 millimetres, the sheets offer better stability and resistance against physical impact, such as hail or snow loads. Winnerl says, “The new 4-wall sheet has virtually the same weight as previous 2-wall sheets of the same thickness, but offers major advantages.” These advantages include excellent insulation with a heat transfer coefficient (Ug) of 2.5 W/m2 K and an optimal ratio between Ug factor and sheet thickness, which significantly increases the sheet’s economic efficiency. Due to its outstanding cold bending radius, Makrolon® multi UV 4/10-6 sheet can be used in many different applications, from tunnel shapes or roofs of industrial buildings to large-surface roofing of public or residential buildings. Its fire protection classification B1 (according to DIN 4102) and the fact that no burning drops can form in case of a fire, add to the extraordinary quality of this polycarbonate sheet. |
